Join us for Introduction to Wheel Throwing with Barb Mitchell — a four-week beginner pottery class held Thursday evenings from Feb 26th-Mar 19th (6pm-8pm sessions) at MADE in Johnstown! In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with high fire clay on the pottery wheel, including shaping, trimming, and glazing your own ceramic pieces. No experience is necessary, and all materials, tools, and firings are included. Come ready to get messy, learn something new, and walk away with pottery you made yourself.

Pottery wheels
Clay: ~12 lbs per student (Hight Fire Clay)
Glazes: 3–4 color options
Trimming tools, buckets, bats, and studio towels
Kiln access for both bisque and glaze firing
Students Should Bring:
Comfortable clothing they don’t mind getting dirty
Closed-toe shoes
Hair tied back (if applicable)
A hand towel is helpful
No jewelry or valuables
