This Six-session woodworking course is designed for beginners and newer makers who want to build confidence in the woodshop. Led by Jim Buday, students will learn the fundamentals of wood selection, shop safety, measuring, layout, machine operation, joinery, sanding, clamping, and finishing.
This is a skill-building course. Students will gain hands-on experience with common woodworking tools and techniques used to begin working safely and independently in the woodshop.
Topics include wood types, board feet, PPE, miter saw, table saw, planer, jointer, band saw, drill press, sanding, glue-ups, dowels, biscuits, pocket screws, dado cuts, half-lap joints, and finishing basics.
